Trophy Design with 5th Graders

The LightSaders were excited to team up with 5th Graders from Saint Gabriel’s Catholic School.  Giving them a challenge of drawing trophy designs, we engaged them in the world of Robotics, CAD Design, and 3-D Printing.

5th Graders submitted designs for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies.  The winners had their designs implemented in CAD and then printed using our 3D Printer.  We showed them the process and not only printed one for us, but one for each winner.

These trophies later became awards to winners of our hosted, AML Virtual Showcase #2, A Mock Match-Up.

It was an amazing experience for our team and for the 5th grade winners who got to see their concept developed from beginning to end.
